As the most knowledged cost and negotiation expert within this fast moving well-known homeware and kitchenware company, I am responsible for 40 new product development projects each year from purchasing perspective and work very closely with the design team to ensure designs are fit for manufacturers, best possible profit margins are achieved and the company’s supplier bases are consistently monitored, improved and well looked after daily, monthly and yearly. I fly to China/HK three times a year to attend trade shows, meet existing and new suppliers to maintain and grow excellent trading relationships, work with them on tooling/design/cost improvement projects and constantly looking for new technology, new materials and new partners for the company. I am excellent with cost estimation and analysis for plastic injection moulding, metal work, fabrics, glass, ceramics, wood/bamboo and multi-material products and I have a track record of achieving £500k direct and indirect savings annually through cost analysis, cost avoidance, strong negotiation, implementing innovative supplier rebate scheme and existing product cost down projects. With strong business acumen, team player spirit and being highly ambitious I am always up for a commercial challenge and keen to find the next business opportunity and commerical solution for the company.
