Country Manager Purchasing
Reporting to Vice President Global Purchasing – CPO in Sweden
Responsibility and accountability for Indirect Purchasing to provide services and materials for all Business Areas in Brazil;
Site Manager: Facilities Management (maintenance, cleaning, security, canteen, etc.)
Responsible to building and developing a purchasing organization with required infrastructure within sub-region and country.
- Managing and coordinating of all sourcing and purchasing activities, achieving performance targets set by Steering Group.
Centralization and Implementation of Indirect Purchasing area in 6 months
Introduced concept of category management and strategic sourcing
Management of the supply market for a defined category of goods or services with the aim of obtaining maximum supplier contribution to the delivery of the business needs.
Delivered overcome savings targets in the last 3 years
After one year of implementation, IP Brazil area is rated as a reference in Global Purchasing
In 2015 assumed responsibility for Regional Compliance area, Sustainable Supplier Evaluation
My position requires frequent travel nationally and internationally (25% monthly)

Main Responsibilities:
Influence executive management, from a category management perspective, in the development of the business strategy.
Fosters a culture of working strategically with category management in the entire organization and influence the organization to establish cross-functional teams.
Defines specific capabilities relevant for successful category management and ensures that these capabilities are available within the company.
Coaches’ senior people in the concept of category management and its business value.
Monitors industry benchmarks in category management processes.
Ensure development, implementation and follow-up of processes, methods and tools for category management.
Responsibility of all indirect Categories: Facilities, Energy, Logistics, Travel&Car (Fleet), MROs, Promotion/Marketing, HR/Professional Services, IT and Telecom, Equipment, Subcontractors, Packaging, etc.
In conjunction with the key client (i.e. BA manager, PU Managers and other stakeholders), provide high level expertise for a significant number of high risk, high value (“Strategic Critical”) sourcing activities.
Lead and support peers, providing guidance on all matters within the sourcing process.
Act as process leader for continued sourcing process improvement.
Develop procurement-specific sourcing strategies, processes and analysis techniques.
Manage the effective delivery of projects by determining project timelines, objectives and directing activities of project teams, keeping all members and stakeholders informed of progress.
Ensure the successful delivery of sourcing project outcomes through use of rigorous and systematic processes and timely project completion.
Lead the development and on-going management of multiple and simultaneous supplier selection and negotiation processes ensuring key stakeholder involvement in the determination of requirements, specifications, selection criteria; review of proposals; negotiations.
Conduct and implement contract management for assigned contracts.
Ensure new or changed supply arrangements are effectively communicated to all stakeholders affected by the changes.
Performance manages supplier agreements to ensure adherence to terms and added value.
Governance:
- Responsible for compliance with internal and external policies, guidelines, regulations and laws;
- External Supply Management:
Monitor sub-regional and country supply markets, interpreting market intelligence and developing supplier profiles for key suppliers in own category;
Evaluate, approve, select, manage and develop sub-regional and country suppliers through supplier measurements and supplier performance reviews, partly based on supplier measurements done on other organization levels;
- Manage and lead negotiations with strategic suppliers, supporting global/regional negotiations within category;
- Strategies:
- Develop and insure implementation of sub-regional and country category strategies together with Global Category Managers.
Target setting and Performance:
Set up sub-regional and country category KPI’s / annual business plan and implement accordingly;
Drive performance by set targets and KPI’s
People Management:
Attract talent, manage and develop organization, including hiring, training and development, retention, coaching, motivating and succession planning in line with leadership model;
Provide annual budgetary estimates including manpower, assets, equipment, etc., managing and controlling expenses according target.
