Cost reduction assignment on Consultancy's behalf

A boutique procurement consultancy in Europe with offices in Belgium, France and UK is looking to hire contractors for a period of 2 to 6 months to help with cost reduction projects across multiple customers. Consultancy is led by ex-senior consultants from renowned firms including McKinsey, BCG and KPMG. Typical assignments for them include working on behalf of the Boards or the private equity investors of the business to conduct opportunity assessment and deliver procurement transformation agenda across the business. This includes conducting detailed procurement diagnostics, spend analytics, strategic negotiations, RFPs with the suppliers, and leading process improvement initiatives.

The consultancy is looking to work with freelancers who have strong strategic procurement background and ideally a strong consulting background from their previous jobs.

Requirements:

• A strong track record of conducting procurement consultancy assignments with exposure to the following areas: Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, and RFP execution using E-sourcing platforms

• You would have ideally worked with leading consultancies in the past (e.g., Kearney, Big 4, or other leading boutique procurement consultancies), and have delivered assignments for US based clients

• Excellent command on verbal and written English (Clients are in US, and so excellent command on verbal as well as written English is a must)

• Excellent knowledge of Excel (comfortable with Pivots, Advanced functions etc.)

• Advanced user of PowerPoint

Currently, there are 8 open roles:

3 Senior Consultants: Here, along with the above must-haves, past experience in sourcing Direct Food categories (Protein, Dairy, Produce, Ingredients) is a must. Senior Consultants will have 8+ years' experience of working with renowned procurement consultancies. If not sufficient consultancy background, then you would have worked in senior Industry roles (Category manager to Head of Procurement) for at least 5 years

3 Consultants: Consultants will have 5+ years' experience of working with renowned procurement consultancies, and ideally have worked with Food categories and/or worked in Directs sourcing projects

1 Senior Manager: Here, past track record of leading cost take out engagements (on behalf of renowned consultancies) in a must. Senior Managers will have 12+ years' experience of working with renowned procurement consultancies. Ideally, you would have worked in one or more cost reduction projects in the Food Sector as well (involving Direct categories)

1 Manager: Here, past track record of running strategic sourcing engagements (on behalf of renowned consultancies) in a must. Managers will have 10+ years' experience of working with renowned procurement consultancies. You would have worked in one or more cost reduction projects in the Telecom Sector (involving Direct categories)

Most of the projects are ok with remote working, and for most part of the engagement you will be working from home, however you may be required to travel to Client location (in US) on some occasions.

You will be working closely with senior consulting colleagues from pan European offices, and with client teams across US. 

Although current requirement is for a short period of time, there is a high likelihood that the role will be extended for a number of further months as the consultancy is experiencing strong business momentum. Furthermore we are growing significantly, and always welcome new permanents member to the family.
