Procurement Manager - Capex & MRO

purpose of the job

1. manage end to end procurement cycle of capex, engineering & mro (maintenance repairs and operations) related to plant and machinery & civil projects for entire business.

2. to ensure world class industry standards at most competitive price.

3. to develop a strong and effective sourcing strategy, supplier development plan, and simplified automated operating processes.

4. to help reduce total cost of conversion and oee equipment effectiveness.

key accountabilities

1. responsible for developing and executing strategic capex and mro procurement initiatives to support achievement of business objectives.

2. support sadafco factories by identifying right equipment, technology, and suppliers to meet its demand growth.

3. excellent procurement knowledge and understanding of procuring plant and machinery related to food and beverage industry (dairy, ice-cream and culinary), processing, filling and eol equipment & automation.

4. to bring market insight on technological changes, advancements to help innovation, being more efficient and cost competitive.

5. proactively participate and engage with manufacturing and project departments to identify new projects to improve efficiency, reduce waste, quality improvement, service improvement & responsible sourcing.

6. identifying solutions to challenges and problems being faced by manufacturing sites to reduce waste and productivity losses with help of suppliers.

7. negotiate rates, trade terms and productivity assurance with suppliers.

8. draft long term contracts considering future risks in close alignment with legal team.

9. organizing rfi, rfp & e-bids & conducting fair price evaluation of assets over its life cycle.

10. leading procurement and contracts / sub-contracts for green filed or brown field construction projects.

11. being and active member of project team to introduce, qualify and approve contractors for civil projects.

12. managing contracts and negotiations related to installation or modifications & upgrade of existing processing plants

13. managing service and annual maintenance contracts of ambient and frozen warehouse storage systems

14. managing supply and service contracts for preventive and corrective maintenance of processing, filling and eol equipment’s.

15. participate in monitoring of performance / service level agreements (sla’s) of suppliers and machinery.

16. helping the manufacturing and project teams identify root cause analysis of mistakes/errors and problem solving.

17. participate in continuous improvement programs and standardization of processes for goods & services, whenever possible.

18. responsible for establishing systems & procedures to ensure that equipment/ materials/ services received are in accordance with the quantity & quality norms specified by the user department and purchase order.

19. conducts sourcing process excellence including high efficiency in transactions, reduced procurement lead times, strategic sourcing, reduced emergency and cash purchases and efficient management of procurement of good & services related with manufacturing and warehouses.

20. proactively liaise with suppliers to build relationships, develop new vendors, and resolve supply issues.

21. provide complete support during internal / external audits which are conducted for understanding whether the procurement process in place is complete, efficient, and accurate.

22. evaluates performance of team members, provides feedback on an on-going basis, identifies development needs and coach them to ensure on-going capability development.

23. setting performance goals and kpi’s for team members. Monitoring and evaluating performance goals and guiding them to improve consistently.

24. strives to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all competencies and skills required to perform the role (for self as well as reportees).

job requirements

• qualification:

◼ bachelor’s degree in engineering and master’s degree in engineering or supply chain management.

◼ cips/cipp qualification will be an advantage.

• experience:

◼ total 10-13 years.

◼ min: 7 years in procurement of food and beverages equipment and machinery (mixing, processing, filling & eo lines). dairy / ice cream experience is an advantage.

◼ min 3 years in green field or brown field construction projects (warehouse, cold storage, factories,

• age: min 38 to max 48 years

• ready and able to work collaboratively in a customer service-oriented setup within a matrix organization structure. Able to work up, down and across a large organization connects at all the levels i.e., operational, management & executives.

• ability to work with others as a team player.

• proficient in microsoft office and experience in working with erp.

• possess intermediate level of written and spoken english language skill.

• knowledge of arabic will be an added advantage.
